“It is okay for the bride to express herself but in a way that doesn’t the hurt the groom. Once there is open communication, they can figure out how to exchange or modify the ring to something they can both be happy with. Alternatively, the groom could propose with just a diamond solitaire on a temporary ring holder. During the surprise proposal, he can still slip the diamond onto the bride’s finger without having to finalise any ring design. Then, they can seek a personal jeweller’s styling advice to work out a compromised design that both parties will be happy with. This is an area we’ve been helping couples with for years” – Creative Director, Simone Ng
