History

Grand Chandelier

Dolmabahce Palace houses the largest collection of Bohemian and Baccarat crystal chandeliers in the world, including the magnificent Grand Chandelier. Gracefully suspended from the ornate ceiling of the Ceremonial Hall, it holds the title of the world’s largest Bohemian crystal chandelier. This magnificent piece has illuminated the visits of political dignitaries and pivotal moments in history, standing as a testament to luxury and grandeur.

Gates to Bosphorus

Just outside the Ceremonial Hall, the River Gate stands proudly on the shores of the Bosphorus. Overlooking the eternal passage of time, these gates have welcomed the Sultan’s guests, many of whom arrived by river. Crafted from wrought iron and adorned with intricate designs and motifs, the Gates have borne witness to countless historical moments, marking the convergence of cultures and eras.

The intricate metalwork that defines both the Grand Chandelier and the Gates to Bosphorus is reflected in every detail of the DOLMABAHCE High Jewellery Collection. From the delicate curves of the chandelier to the sculptural elegance of the gates, each piece is a work of artistic mastery, meticulously crafted to embody the opulence of Dolmabahce Palace.

Grand Chandelier

Inspired by the iconic Bohemian crystal chandelier that adorns the Ceremonial Hall, the Grand Chandelier creations bring the grandeur of this masterpiece to life in jewellery form. The pieces feature delicate curves and fluid lines that echo the chandelier’s ethereal presence.

The radiance of the Grand Chandelier is further embodied in the use of precious gemstones. A sparkling pear-cut Fancy Yellow-Green Diamond is elegantly set within the embrace of sweeping curves of 18k White Gold and Diamonds, a stunning representation of the chandelier's luminous glow and delicate beauty.

Gates to Bosphorus

The Gates to Bosphorus Brooch-Cum-Pendant is a display of the creative vision that defines the DOLMABAHCE collection. Inspired by the ornate metalwork of the River Gate, the brooch features a design with curvilinear artistry and moving hinges. When opened, the gates reveal a stunning marquetry-cut Mother of Pearl surface, emulating the soft glow of sunlight dancing upon the Bosphorus waters.

A smaller window within the gates opens to reveal pavé-set Sapphires, which represent the flowing currents of the Bosphorus River, adding another layer of artistry to this remarkable piece. In this transformation from historic architecture to wearable art, the piece invites the wearer to be a part of Dolmabahce’s storied legacy.
