The vase’s intricate scenery - flowing rivers, serene pavilions, and drifting clouds - told a story of harmony, peace, and prosperity. At the same time, details of auspicious elements were not lost in translation - certain pieces are presented with Jade shaped into xiang yun, or “lucky clouds,” symbols in Chinese culture representing good fortune and balance.
